The centre of Amsterdam is full of tourist cheese shops that will sell you overpriced mediocre cheese. Honestly, it won’t be the end of the world if you buy your cheese there as ignorance is bliss. But equally, with some local insight (via this very page!) it’s also quite easy to find better (and cheaper) cheese, the sort that Amsterdammers themselves eat.
